Welcome to Nottingham! The city, which dates back to 600 AD, lies on the River Trent, is situated in the East Midlands of England, and has a population of over 300,000. It is famous for its association with the Robin Hood' legend. During the Industrial Revolution, much of Nottingham's prosperity was founded on the textile industry, and during the days of the British Empire it was the heart of the world's lace industry. In recent years Nottingham has became well-known for 2 European Cup wins by Nottingham Forest FC.

Public transport in Nottingham is excellent and in 2010 Nottingham was rated as the least 'car dependent' city in the country! There is an extensive bus service operating within the city and surrounding suburbs.
