Welcome to Liverpool, hometown of The Beatles! Liverpool is situated on the north-west coast of England and lies on the River Mersey. The city has a population of almost 500,000, making it one of the largest cities in England. Liverpool is most famous for its two football clubs and its iconic music scene.

GETTING TO LIVERPOOL
Liverpool Airport (LPL) is only 7 miles south of the city centre and there are daily domestic and European flights. There is a regular bus service from the airport into the city centre, or you can call one of the local taxi companies. If you are travelling by bus or train, Norton Street Coach Station and both Lime Street and Central train stations are located in the city centre. (TIP: Another option is to fly to Manchester Airport (MAN) and connect to Liverpool by bus or train).

GETTING AROUND LIVERPOOL
Public transport in Liverpool is excellent. There are extensive bus, train and ferry services operating within the city and surrounding suburbs. All public transport options are inexpensive, however, many students walk or cycle.
