Welcome to the industrial city of Bradford! Bradford is situated at the foot of the Pennine hills in West Yorkshire, in northern England. The city lies on the River Hull, and has a population of over 300,000. In years gone by, Bradford was a thriving textile city. 

GETTING TO BRADFORD
Humberside Airport (HUY) is 15 miles from Hull but only welcomes limited domestic and European flights. Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBA) is 70 miles from Hull and offers more options. If you are travelling by bus or train, Hull has a combined bus and rail hub called the Hull Paragon Interchange, which is located in the city centre. (TIP: Another option for international students is to fly to Manchester Airport (MAN) or London Heathrow (LHW) and connect to Hull by bus or train).

GETTING AROUND BRADFORD
Public transport in Bradford consits mainly of an extensive bus system which operates within the city and surrounding suburbs. Stagecoach is the main provider for buses and in general the system is inexpensive and reliable. Hull is a very cycle friendly city and the local council have provided offered cycle lanes, so many students walk or cycle.

THINGS TO DO IN BRADFORD
Bradford has plenty of attractions to keep you busy. Spend a few hours in the Hull Maritime Museum or the Wilberforce House, visit the Streetlife Museum of Transport, or enjoy a show at the Hull Truck Theatre. If you are a sports fan there is both 'Premier League' football and 'Super League' rugby league at the KC Stadium. For the more energetic, enjoy a run or a cycle through the streets and parks of the city and why not venture out to see the very impressive Humber Bridge, which is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world!

Bradford has a fantastic reputation for excellent shopping. Some of the main shopping streets in the citry centre include, Whitefriargate, King Edward Street and Carr Lane, where you will find a blend of high street retailers along with more independent shops. The city has a number of shopping malls. The main three are, the Prospect Centre and St Stephen's and Princes Quay shopping centres. Hull also has a number of interesting local markets including the Walton Street market which is held twice a week close to the KC Stadium.
