Welcome to Seville, the ancient capital of Andalucia. Seville, the fourth largest city in Spain, is situated in the south-west of the country and has a population of 700,000. Seville is rich in history, and enjoys a fantastic climate with sunshine all year round- the perfect place to study abroad!
GETTING TO SEVILLE
Seville Airport (SVQ) (TIP: known as San Pablo Airport), is only 10km from the city centre with daily domestic and European flights. There is a regular bus service from the airport into the city centre, or you can call one of the local taxi companies. If you are arriving by train, Santa Justa Train Station is located in the city centre and has good connections with most of the major cities in Spain.
GETTING AROUND SEVILLE
Seville has a modern tram system (Metro-Centro) and an extensive bus service. The tram (Metro-Centro) has 1 route though the city centre, and buses service most of the suburbs, operating from two main stations, Puerta de Jerez and Plaza Ponce de Leon. Tickets are inexpensive and both services are clean and reliable. Seville also has the Sevici bike service, which is an inexpensive bike hire system with over 2500 bikes and over 250 bike stations throughout the city. Many students walk or cycle.

Seville is one of the most visited cities in Spain with a diversity of attractions. Spend a few hours at the Italica (birthplace of the Roman emperor Trajan), or the Museo de Bellas Artes, visit the Plaza de España, or enjoy a show at the Teatro Central. If you are a sports fan, there is 'La Liga' football at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, and the Estadio Benito Villamarín, and for the more energetic, enjoy a run or a cycle through the streets and parks of the city to see some of the famous landmarks, including Reales Alcazares and the Torre del Oro. We highly recommend trying your hand at Flamenco dancing in one of the cities many bars and restaurants.
SHOPPING IN SEVILLE
The main shopping area in Seville is located in the city centre on Sierpes Street and Tetuan Street, where you will find both large department stores and smaller independent shops.
