Welcome to Turin, the fourth largest city in Italy with a population of more than 900,000. Turin is situated in the north of Italy on the River Po, is rich in history and is one of the most visited cities in Europe.
HOW TO GET TO TURIN
Caselle International Airport (TRN) is situated 8 miles north of the city centre and there are daily domestic and international flights. There are regular bus and train services available from the airport into the city centre, or you can call one of the local taxi companies. Porta Nouva Train Station and Autostazione Bus Station are both located in the city centre, if you are travelling by train or bus. (TIP: there are four train stations in Turin. Porta Nouva is the main station.)
GETTING AROUND TURIN
Public transport in Turin is excellent and is operated by Gruppo Torinese Trasporti (GTT). The network is extensive, servicing the city centre and surrounding suburbs. The main forms of transport include buses, trams and a subway system. Turin also operates the ToBike bike service, which is an inexpensive bike hire system with more than 100 bike stations throughout the city. Many students walk or cycle.

THINGS TO DO IN TURIN
Turin is one of the most visited cities in Italy with a diversity of attractions. Spend a few hours in the Museo dell'Automobile, or the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, visit the Giardino Medievale, or enjoy a show at the Teatro Stabile Torino. If you are a sports fan, there is 'Serie A' football at the Juventus Stadium, and the Stadio Olimpico, and for the more energetic, enjoy a run or a cycle through the streets and parks of the city to see some of the famous landmarks, including Palazzo Reale and the Palazzo di Citta.
SHOPPING IN TURIN
Turin is well-known for great shopping. The main shopping areas for big brands and commercial chains are located on via Roma, via Carlo Alberto and via Lagrange. Via Garibaldi offers smalller independent stores and the city has several shopping malls including Le Gru, 8 Gallery and Galleria Subalpina. Turin also has a large number of interesting and fun street markets, including the Porta Palazzo market, which is the largest street market in Europe!
