Welcome to Grenoble, the Capital of the Alps! Grenoble is situated at the foot of the French Alps in southeastern France, and is home to more than 150,000 people. The city is located where the rivers Isère and Drac converge, and is a popular skiing destination, having hosted the 1968 Winter Olympics. Historically Greoble was famous for the manufacture of gloves, while more recently it is a centre for science and technology.

GETTING TO GRENOBLE
Grenoble–Isère Airport (GNB) is located 25 miles north-west of the city centre, with limited  European flights. There are regular shuttle buses from the airport into the city centre.
(TIP: another option is to fly to either Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) or Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), and connect with Grenoble by train.) If you are travelling by train, Gare de Grenoble is located in the city centre and is serviced by the TGV train service.

GETTING AROUND GRENOBLE
Public transport in Grenoble is excellent and consists of
a bus network and four tram lines. The bus network operates within the city centre and surrounding suburbs. The four tram lines operate within the city and run throughout the day until 1am. All public transport is clean and reliable and tickets are inexpensive.
