Welcome to Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark! Copenhagen is situated on the eastern coast of Zealand, the largest and most populated island in Denmark, and has a population of more than 1.25 million, making it the largest city in the country. Copenhagen is a fascinating city, rich in culture and history, and is closely associated with the famous writer, Hans Christian Andersen, who is best remembered for his fairytales.

GETTING TO COPENHAGEN
Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is the largest airport in Scandinavia, and is situated on Amager Island, just 5 miles south of the city centre. There are daily domestic and European
flights and there are excellent links with the city centre. Passengers can chose to travel by metro, bus or train, to and from the city. Both Copenhagen Central Station and the bus terminal are located in the city centre.

Public transport in
Copenhagen is excellent. There is an extensive bus network, S-trains, ferries and a world award-winning metro system. The metro is the most popular mode of transport and has 2 lines (M1 and M2) accessing the whole city. The DSB S-train network is also very popular.
